A SOC 2 (Service Organization Control 2) compliance audit evaluates an organization’s controls related to data security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the SOC 2 audit ensures the private assets of potential and existing customers are protected. SOC 2 reports are recognized globally and affirm that the full scope of a company’s operations have been formally reviewed.
The SOC 2 audit focuses on five key areas, which are known as the Trust Services Criteria:
- Security: Protection of system resources against unauthorized access.
- Availability: Accessibility of the system as stipulated by a contract or service level agreement.
- Processing Integrity: Ensuring that system processing is complete, valid, accurate, timely, and authorized.
- Confidentiality: Protection of information that is designated as confidential.
- Privacy: Management and protection of personal information in accordance with the organization’s privacy policies.
